Honoring the Past By Moving Forward!
Atlanta Vintage Guitars was started back in 1994 and incorporated
back in 1998, and was founded by Frank Moates, a bluesman from
Marietta GA., who was in the vintage guitar business before there was
a vintage guitar business! AVG came out of the closing of Dixie
Guitars, with Tut Campbell. Frank took over and grew the business,
for years until succumbing to cancer in July of 2009. On June 28,
2011 the business was sold to Greg Henderson, who like Frank is a
musician, and guitar aholic! Greg was a long time friend of Frankies
who has been to dozens of shows, owned hundreds of guitars, amps
and effects. Greg has studied the vintage market for years, kept up
with all the changes and has promised to "Honor the Past by Moving
Forward!" In Dec 2011 Greg joined up with Perry Jones to take AVG
to the next level and reopen a storefront. The response has been over
whelmingly popular and folks seem glad to see us back!
The website is constantly changing as we update inventory often,
so check back often!
Please ask us about our parts, microphones, speakers by size, brand and date!
Don't be fooled by others trying to pass themselves off as Atlanta Vintage
Guitars. This is The ONE AND ONLY ATLANTA VINTAGE GUITARS!
So in honor of my mentor, here is a picture of Frank in front of
the old shop, so we are honoring the past by moving forward!
